NV Domaine de Martinolles "Le Berceau" Blanquette de Limoux Brut (Languedoc, FR)

The grapes are hand-harvested, and the Blanquette de Limoux undergoes a minimum of nine months of aging on the lees before disgorgement. Named 'Le Berceau,' meaning 'cradle,' it pays homage to the birthplace of sparkling wine and is crafted from the traditional Mauzac grape of the region.

    About The Varietal

    Mauzac

Mauzac is a traditional white grape variety found throughout South West France. While it has been largely supplanted by fashionable Chardonnay, it is used to make still and sparkling wines in the Limoux and Gaillac appellations. Wines made from Mauzac grapes tend to have honeyed, green apple characters, and the variety appears on its own or as part of a blend.
