NV Crisecco Original Brut (Codru, MD)

This Moldovan sparkling wine is crafted using 90% Feteasca Alba and 10% Muscat through the Charmat method. It presents aromas of green apple, toast, and hazelnut. On the palate, the pleasant bubbles set the stage for flavors of apple, hazelnuts, and toasted almonds.

    About The Varietal

    Feteasca Alba

Feteasca Alba is a widely grown grape variety in Eastern Europe, particularly in Romania, but also in Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Ukraine. The name "Feteasca" means "maiden" in Romanian and applies to three distinct varieties: Feteasca Regala (royal maiden), Feteasca Neagra (black maiden), and Feteasca Alba (white maiden), which refers to the grape's color. Feteasca Alba typically produces dry, aromatic wines with flavors of stone fruit and tropical notes. It is also used in sweet and sparkling wines and can be blended with other local varieties, such as Grasa de Cotnari.
