The Syrah grown by Stephen Singer and organic viticultural expert Greg Adams is some of the best in Sonoma County, and we are lucky to work with a small amount for our Sonoma Coast Syrah. The tiny berries here are so dark, they are nearly black in appearance. The flavors in the resulting wine are saturated with savory, roasted meaty notes that are overlaid by pretty, floral and dark-fruited aromas.
About The Varietal
Shiraz and Syrah are interchangeable names for the same dark-skinned grape variety when viewed in terms of DNA. Originating in the Rhône Valley, this grape dominates plantings in the northern section of the valley. The name Shiraz is commonly used in Australia and certain regions of the New World, particularly those with warmer climates. The stylistic differences between Shiraz and Syrah wines are often distinct, contributing to the enduring dual identities of this grape variety.

About The Producer
Founded in Healdsburg in 2001 by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, Arnot-Roberts began with just one barrel of wine made in their basement. Sourcing grapes from remarkable vineyards across California, Duncan and Nathan's upbringing in Napa Valley instilled in them a deep appreciation for agrarian life and winemaking. Nathan became a cooper of oak wine barrels, following in his father's footsteps, while Duncan honed his winemaking skills in renowned wineries in Napa and Sonoma counties. Arnot-Roberts focuses on producing distinctive, site-driven wines that reflect the unique terroirs of Northern California, sourcing grapes from vineyards in Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Rita Hills, Clearlake, and Sierra Foothills.
