2023 Theopolis Vineyards "California Symphony" (Anderson Valley, CA) 3W

This elegant dry white wine delights with aromas of peach candy, fresh basil, and spiced lychee. The soft palate introduces crisp acidity, balanced by lush tropical fruit flavors. It concludes with a smooth, toasty creaminess and a hint of delicate spice, leaving a lasting impression.

    About The Varietal

    Symphony

Symphony, a Californian grape variety developed in 1948 by Harold Olmo of UC Davis, is a cross between Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris. Known for its aromatic, slightly spicy flavors, it is primarily used in white wine blends to enhance aroma. Some varietal examples are made in California, often off-dry or late-harvest, featuring notes of honeysuckle and gardenias. Symphony is best enjoyed young and fresh.

    About The Producer

    Theopolis Vineyards

Ms. Theodora Lee, a senior partner and trial lawyer at Littler, founded Theopolis Vineyards in 2003. Known in the wine industry as Theo-patra, Queen of the Vineyards, her passion for wine began after moving to San Francisco from Texas in 1987, influenced by mentors at her law firm who owned vineyards. She took viticulture classes at UC Davis before purchasing land in the Yorkville Highlands of Anderson Valley in 2001. Developing the vineyard involved clearing land, soil testing, obtaining permits, drilling a well, and terracing the property. In 2003, she planted her 5-acre vineyard. Ms. Lee’s Greek name comes from her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority membership.
