About The Varietal
Macabeo, known as Viura in Rioja, is a versatile white grape that is frequently blended and sometimes faces challenges in establishing its own identity. Widely used on both sides of the Pyrenees – in the northern and eastern regions of Spain and the southernmost areas of France. This relatively flexible grape variety is employed in the production of still, sparkling, dry, and sweet wines.
