About The Varietal
Alb de Onitcani is a white grape variety native to southeastern Moldova, known for producing fresh, light dry white and sparkling wines. Often blended with Rkatsiteli, it creates some of the country's most sought-after light white wines. This late-ripening grape is high in acidity and typically features vegetal notes, along with floral and citrus aromas, enhanced by pronounced acidity and minerality. Predominantly grown in the Codru wine region, Alb de Onitcani is unique to Moldova and is not cultivated elsewhere.
