This is an elegant expression of Gamay with notes of freshly picked cherries, strawberries, and ripe blackberries. On the palate, it has lots of juiciness thanks to whole cluster fermentation with lots of red cherry at the front followed by notes of blackberry, bramble, and a bit of forest floor at the finish with remarkable acidity integrated throughout.
About The Varietal
While Gamay is renowned for creating the vibrant, fruit-forward red wines of Beaujolais, it is also cultivated in substantial quantities in different regions of the Loire Valley, Savoie, and western Switzerland.
