2022 Elvio Cogno "Mandorlo" Dolcetto d'Alba (Piedmont, IT) 4R

The Dolcetto d’Alba Mandorlo 2022 embodies a nostalgic embrace of the land and its heritage. True to tradition, this wine is authentic and straightforward. It exudes aromas of sweet fruit, particularly luscious cherry and blueberry, intertwined with delicate floral notes. Its hallmark characteristics lie in its drinkability and balance. Throughout the tasting journey, it gracefully unveils an elegant hint of wild fruit that accompanies each sip from start to finish.

    About The Varietal

    Dolcetto

Dolcetto is a red grape variety originating from the Monferrato hills in northwestern Italy. It yields smooth, fruity wines that range in color from rich ruby to deep purple.

    About The Producer

    Elvio Cogno

The Cogno family has been making wine in Piedmont for four generations. In 1990, Elvio restored the manor, converted the granaries to wine cellars, and founded his winery. He dedicated 20 years to winemaking traditions from his father and grandfather. Elvio has now passed the winery to his daughter, Nadia, and her husband, Valter Fissore, who worked with Elvio for 25 years. The Elvio Cogno winery continues to produce elegant wines, preserving the traditions and flavors of the Langhe. Their wines are highly regarded in both Europe and the United States.
