Feteasca Regala is a white grape variety common in Eastern Europe, especially Romania. It's one of three "Feteasca" grapes, meaning "maiden" in Romanian, alongside Feteasca Alba (white) and Feteasca Neagra (black). Feteasca Regala, meaning "royal maiden," tends to have richer flavors than Feteasca Alba, with aromatic notes of green apple and tropical fruits. It can be made in an off-dry style and responds well to barrel aging, adding complexity. It's also sometimes blended with Muscat Ottonel, especially in sweeter wines.
