About The Varietal
Feteasca Neagra is a dark-skinned grape variety native to Moldova and Romania, though it's now more commonly grown in Romania. Known for producing some of Romania's top red wines, it features spicy, smoky fruit notes and a solid tannin structure. While it declined in Moldova during the Soviet era, it continued to thrive in Romania, especially in the east. Currently, it isn't widely planted outside Eastern Europe, but interest in lesser-known grape varieties could increase its global presence in the future.
