2021 Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano Fiore (Tuscany, IT) 3W

100% Vernaccia from the hilltop town of San Gimignano has notes of ripe lemons and melon, while remaining dry on the finish. The "Fiore" bottling from Montenidoli is made from the free-run juice and therefore is a more elegant style. Organic and biodynamic.

    About The Varietal

    Vernaccia

Vernaccia, derived from the pejorative form of the Italian word Vernaculo meaning "common" or "indigenous," has been used in various wine regions around Italy to refer to several entirely unrelated grape varieties. The majority of Vernaccias are light-skinned and give rise to light white-wine styles. However, there are also dark-skinned Vernaccias, collectively labeled under the conveniently generic title Vernaccia Nera.
