2021 Chapelle St Theodoric "La Guigasse" Chateauneuf du Pape (Rhone Valley, FR)

The Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse, made from 75-year-old Grenache vines grown in sandy soils, was fermented with whole clusters and will age for two years in older demi-muids. Its nose offers an enticing blend of spice, herbal, and savory notes that contrast beautifully with cherry and raspberry fruit. On the medium to full-bodied palate, it’s concentrated and slightly sappy, finishing bright, fresh, and long.

    About The Varietal

    Grenache

Grenache, also known as Garnacha, is a red wine grape variety extensively cultivated in France, Spain, Australia, and the United States. Its remarkable versatility, both in the vineyard and during the winemaking process, might be the reason for its widespread presence as one of the most widely planted grape varieties across the globe.
