2020 Marchesi di Barolo "Maraia" Barbera del Monferrato (Piedmont, IT) 4R

This wine presents refreshing aromas characterized by fruity essences that bring to mind blackberry and red berry jam, along with spicy touches of vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is rich and all-encompassing, featuring a bright acidic undertone. The woody notes from minimal oak blend harmoniously with the red fruit flavors lingering on the finish.

    About The Varietal

    Barbera

While frequently overshadowed by Nebbiolo, another native grape of Piedmont, Barbera still manages to craft unique and incredibly appealing red wines known for their versatility and enticing aromas. These wines possess the charm of Nebbiolo without its shortcomings.

    About The Producer

    Marchesi di Barolo

Named after their own town, Barolo wine was created in the historic cellars of Marchesi di Barolo. Thanks to Giulia di Barolo, who recognized the soils and microclimate of her home vineyards, she was the first to make Nebbiolo grapes into the Barolo we know now, rather than in the form of a sweet, sparkling wine. Giulia build new cellars to make wine in large casks, some of which are still used today almost 5 centuries later.
