2020 Clos Cibonne "Cuvee Marius" Rose (Cotes de Provence, FR) 3P

Cuvée Marius is a tribute to Marius Roux, the modern founder of Clos Cibonne and defender of the Tibouren grape in Provence in the 1800s. Cuvée Marius is made from a single parcel of vines that are over 60 years old and are just 800 meters from the ocean. The label is a recreation of the original labels of the late 1800s, when the winery was called Château Cibon. Barrel-aged and designed for cellaring, this wine is dominated by flavors of salty strawberry and raspberry and sun-baked apricots. This special bottle is a unique rosé experience.

    About The Varietal

    Tibouren

Tibouren is a black-skinned grape variety cultivated in Provence, southern France. Primarily used for crafting full-bodied rosé wines with an earthy bouquet, Tibouren is often blended with varieties like Grenache and Cinsault to create the characteristic rosés of the Provencal regions. Some producers, however, opt to make varietal wines exclusively from the Tibouren grape.
