2020 Bassermann-Jordan Forst Trocken Riesling (Pfalz, DE) 4W

Hailing from a single vineyard (Forst), the Basserman-Jordan is a textbook Riesling: classic Riesling petrol spice, along with peach, nectarine, and pithy tangerine vibes. Medium-bodied with great acidity, this is very food friendly and aromatically compelling.

    About The Varietal

    Riesling

Regarded as one of the finest white wine varieties globally, the aromatic and fresh Riesling often navigates between the pristine purity of its German expressions and the intricate complexities of its Alsatian counterparts. Its worldwide presence spans a range of styles, from dry to sweet, defying easy categorization and frequently exceeding simplistic judgments at all levels.

    About The Producer

    Bassermann-Jordan

The history of Bassermann-Jordan winery is deeply intertwined with the winemaking legacy of Pfalz. For over 300 years, each generation of the Jordan family has played a significant role in shaping quality-based viticulture in Germany. In 1718, Pierre Jordan acquired the family's first vineyards in Pfalz, with Johann-Peter Jordan later establishing the winery in Deidesheim. Andreas Jordan further elevated winemaking standards by pioneering the planting of single varieties by vineyard and vinifying each vineyard separately. The addition of the Bassermann name in 1883 through a family marriage marked a significant chapter in the winery's history. Today, Bassermann-Jordan is one of the founding members of the VDP, Germany's premier organization dedicated to ensuring quality wine production.
