About The Varietal
Hibernal is a hybrid white grape variety originally created in Germany but predominantly cultivated in Moldova and the Czech Republic. The variety was developed in 1944 by Heinrich Birk at the Geisenheim Grape Breeding Institute and has been approved for commercial use in Europe since 1999.
