2019 Morlet "Ma Douce" Chardonnay (Sonoma, California) 7W

    99 points - Jeb Dunnuck

"The 2019 ‘Ma Douce’ (which is named after winemaker Luc Morlet's wife) shows a more racy, focused style compared to the ‘Coup de Cœur’ and has gorgeous notes of caramelized lemon, orange blossom, white flowers, spice, and toasted bread. Coming from the Fort Ross-Seaview region of the Sonoma Coast, it has a touch of marine-like salinity, full-bodied richness, flawless balance, and a monster of a finish. It's another riveting Chardonnay from Morlet that will evolve for 8-10+ years." JD

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.

    About The Producer

    Morlet

Luc Morlet represents the fifth generation of a French winemaking family who left France in 1996 to join his wife Jodie in California. With the Morlet wine label, the couple utilizes old-world principles of Luc’s home in France in St. Helena, California. Morlet’s wines are consistently some of our favorites, showing harmony in their intensity, richness, and complexity.
