    2018 Chateau Charmail Haut-Medoc (Bordeaux, FR) 5R

The 2018 vintage was exceptional in Bordeaux, and Château Charmail made the most of it. The wine captures the essence of classic Médoc style - a harmonious blend dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that offers layers of dark fruit, graphite minerality, and those signature earthy undertones that make Left Bank wines so distinctive. Expect flavors of blackcurrant and plum intertwined with hints of cedar, tobacco, and subtle spice, all supported by well-integrated tannins that provide structure without overwhelming the palate.

This wine has the backbone to age gracefully for years to come, yet drinks beautifully now with proper decanting. It's the kind of wine that reminds you why Bordeaux has been the benchmark for fine wine for centuries - serious, complex, and utterly satisfying.

    About The Varietal

    Bordeaux Blend

A red Bordeaux blend primarily consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, supplemented by smaller amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot, with Carménère occasionally included. While the term naturally applies to all red wines originating from Bordeaux, it is also suitable for wines produced beyond the region, such as those from California, Washington, Argentina, and other locations.
