2018 Borgogno "Derthona" Timorasso (Piedmont, IT) 8W

From one of the most ancient wineries in Barolo, taken from the name of Tortona, in the south of Piedmont, this 100% Timorasso is aged 18th months in French barrels and then 6 months in bottles. The resulting wine is white wine meets rich Barolo! Lush yellow apple and ripe pear are the dominate fruits while a savory minerality reminiscent of white Rhone varieties lingers until the last sip.

    About The Varietal

    Timorasso

Timorasso is an ancient Piedmontese grape variety that faced the threat of extinction in the 1980s. Wines produced from the Timorasso grape tend to be full-bodied with good acidity. This aromatic variety can exhibit tropical fruit notes in some examples and more floral characteristics in others.
