2015 La Rioja Alta "Vina Arana" Gran Reserva (Rioja, SP) 5R

Arana commemorates one of La Rioja Alta's historic families. The aroma is powerful and aromatic, unveiling a diverse blend of balsamic hints, brioche, toasted bread, vanilla, toffee, and cinnamon, complemented by delicate scents of black plums, wild strawberries, ripe blackcurrants, and red berries, forming a fruity and balsamic ensemble. In the mouth, the wine exhibits a well-structured and harmonious profile, marked by enjoyable freshness and smooth, refined tannins, a result of its meticulous oak barrel aging.

    About The Varietal

    Tempranillo

Tempranillo serves as the backbone for some of the finest Spanish wines, and it is a red grape variety cultivated extensively in both Spain and Portugal. In general, Tempranillo yields red wines characterized by red fruit and leather aromas, high tannins, moderate to low acidity, and moderate alcohol levels.

    About The Producer

    La Rioja Alta

La Rioja Alta stands out as a leading winery in the Rioja area, established in 1890 by a group of five families from Rioja and the Basque Country. It has gained acclaim for its traditional, spicy Gran Reserva red wines, which are renowned for their ability to mature elegantly over numerous years. The winery is named after the Rioja Alta (Upper Rioja) subregion, where much of its activity is centered.
