2015 La Rioja Alta "904" Gran Reserva (Rioja, SP) 6R

This vintage was officially rated "Excellent". Intense, deep cherry-red with a garnet-red rim. Intense and complex aromas, dominated by fruit (blackberry jam, raspberries and orange zest) that reveals underlying spicy and balsamic notes of cigar box, cedar licorice, cloves, chocolate mints and toasted wood. Elegantly refined entry. Fresh and lively in the mouth, nicely balanced with polished, silky tannins and a gentle, delicate finish. Very long aftertaste, with citrus and balsamic notes that provide long, complex final sensations.

    About The Producer

    La Rioja Alta

La Rioja Alta stands out as a leading winery in the Rioja area, established in 1890 by a group of five families from Rioja and the Basque Country. It has gained acclaim for its traditional, spicy Gran Reserva red wines, which are renowned for their ability to mature elegantly over numerous years. The winery is named after the Rioja Alta (Upper Rioja) subregion, where much of its activity is centered.
