    6R

Warmer growing regions, fully ripened grapes, extended barrel-aging add to the wine’s body

*6R* 2014 Kita "Kalas" Red Blend (Santa Ynez Valley, CA)

The 2014 Kalas is a deep-colored wine with immediately expressive aromatics that flirt with your senses. Complex flavors of dark fresh berries, black currant, espresso and eucalyptus highlight the diversity and minerality in the soil.

    About The Varietal

    Bordeaux Blend

A red Bordeaux blend primarily consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, supplemented by smaller amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot, with Carménère occasionally included. While the term naturally applies to all red wines originating from Bordeaux, it is also suitable for wines produced beyond the region, such as those from California, Washington, Argentina, and other locations.

    About The Producer

    Kita

Kita is the first wine brand owned by a Native American tribe headed by a Native American winemaker. Due to unfortunate economic conditions, Kita decided to close its doors for good this past April leaving behind one last vintage. Founded in 2010 by descendants of the Chumash of Coastal California, Kita began producing high quality wines in the Santa Ynez Valley, grown on the traditional land of the Chumash people.
