    5W

Medium-bodied wines with more structure and a mouth-feel similar to whole milk

*5W* 2021 Tectonic from Iapetus (Shelburne, VT)

Named by the winery “a wild and magical creature,” this 100% La Crescent is a unique offering from the famed team at Iapetus in Vermont, and yes, Vermont makes good wine! La Crescent was developed by the University of Minnesota's cold-hardy grape breeding program and can withstand some of the harshest climates, even surviving temperatures below -25 Fahrenheit. The flavor is reminiscent of dry riesling, zippy with tropical notes, but has a slightly fuller body. This Orange wine sees over 40 days of skin contact and is great for both beginners to the category and experts.

    About The Varietal

    La Crescent

La Crescent is a pale-skinned hybrid grape variety developed by the University of Minnesota and introduced in 2002. Named after a small town in Minnesota, this grape was specifically bred to withstand very cold climates. It is also cultivated in the northern states of New York and Vermont. La Crescent is known for its relatively strong aroma and offers a range of flavors, including stone fruits like peach, citrus fruits, and even tropical notes such as pineapple.
