Made with Agiorgitiko, Nemea's most iconic grape, this wine is fermented in stainless steel with 12 months on neutral oak barrels which allows its rich aromas and flavors to shine. Notes of ripe red cherries and macerated strawberries and blackberries with subtle bits of clove and black pepper at the finish. Moderately grippy tannins with a healthy amount of acid complement this very ripely flavored red.
About The Varietal
Agiorgitiko is an aromatic red wine grape that is indigenous to Greece's Peloponnese peninsula. It is one of the most commonly cultivated grape varieties in the country, second only to Xinomavro, and is known by various local names. Agiorgitiko is the exclusive grape variety allowed in the Nemea appellation and thrives in the warm Mediterranean climate of that region.
