    Starter Pack (February Lineup):

The Urban Grape’s love for Pares Balta goes back almost to our opening days! This family-run winery in Spain has been led by women winemakers for over 40 years. Today, Marta Casas leads the winemaking team, and under her tenure Pares Balta has found even more fame. This cava is a blend of the three traditional varieties of the Penedès: Parellada, Macabeu and Xarel·lo. The three varietals combine to provide freshness, fruit and body to this gulpable sparkling wine.

Imagine your first-ever wine job is at the famed and mysterious Sine Que Non - where do you go from there? For Maggie Harrison, the answer was to slowly build a 188-acre estate in Oregon where she makes award-winning wines. The Coriolis Syrah is made from her acreage in California. Maggie chooses barrels that are the highest expression of each vintage and blends them into special offerings each year.  This savory wine with blue/black fruit is the perfect antidote to the end of winter blues.

    European Classics (February Lineup):

Oh how we love a Pouilly-Fumé to brighten up our tastebuds after a long winter! Winemaker Valerie Dagueneau learned her love of winemaking from her father Serge, and now runs the estate in its entirety. This enticing white wines has abundant stone fruit aromas and perfect flinty stone notes. The wine has a perfect lushness to it,  undercut by a mineral acidity that keeps you longing for another sip. This is a bottle that will disappear quickly!

Once a rarity, French winemaking fathers are not joyfully welcoming their daughters into production at their family wineries. This trend has revitalized French winemaking, and led to fantastic new offerings. Phillippe Collotte has fully handed the reins of viticulture and winemaking over to his daughter Mireille, who tends the vineyards with her 3 year old son by her side. This light-bodied red wine has a fruity palate of cherry and raspberry and is a fantastic introduction to Burgundy wines!

    Elevated Essentials (February Lineup):

Schramsberg makes some of our favorite California sparkling wines, and their offerings have continued to shine under winemaker Jessica Koga. Jessica oversees a staggering production of over 350 base wines that are blended to produce the various Schramsberg bubbles. The Mirabelle Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, and gains richness from blending additions from aged base wines. We love this wine for its fresh Pink Lady apple aromas and its vibrant lemon zest and pear flavors. Don’t save this one - it will pair with any dinner this week!

Castello di Volpaia is a two generation family-owned business, and the beating heart of the operation is Federica Mascheroni di Volpaia. Federica ensures that Volpaia’s wines reflect the heritage of the region, as well as the innovation needed to produce a modern wine. Her leadership has turned Valpaia into one of the most well-respected wineries in Tuscany. This is a classic Chianti Classico, and a wine that will brighten up any braised dish with its red cherry fruit flavors and trademark balance of acidity and tannins.

Owner of the single best name in all of wine, Gaia Gaja has joined her father Angelo as the head of famed Italian winery Gaja. A talented and acclaimed winemaker in her own right, Gaia is also a climate change leader and respected name in Italian wine. A blend of Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese, the Ca”Marcanda from Gaja is smoky and spicy with native herbaceous notes that compliment Italian cooking. Osso Bucco, anyone?
